Black20 Digital Studios, Machinima.com, CollegeHumor and ScrewAttack.com Highlight List of Content Creators to Develop Exclusive Video for IGN Entertainment
BRISBANE, Calif. -- IGN.com (http://www.ign.com), the Web's leading videogame and entertainment information destination, today announced a series of production and distribution agreements with nearly a dozen of the Web's most dynamic video content creators, including Black20 Digital Studios, Machinima.com, CollegeHumor, ScrewAttack.com, g-NET and Comedy.com. In conjunction with the launch of these partnerships, IGN -- currently the Web's No. 1 source for video content related to videogames (comScore) -- today unveiled a new video destination (http://video.ign.com), which will showcase the new third-party programming, as well as IGN's leading array of originally-produced video content.
Content produced by IGN that will be featured within the new video destination will include game reviews, movie reviews and several popular IGN video shows, such as IGN_Strategize, IGN Head-to-Heads and IGN Game Scoop! News Break. All content on IGN's new video hub will be free to the user and the new content agreements mark the first time that IGN has worked extensively with outside partners to exclusively produce and distribute original content.
"At a time when marketers are watching every dollar, quality video made for the Web is a remarkable value," said Roy Bahat, GM of IGN Entertainment. "We and our content partners are producing premium video that's creatively experimental, cost effective and targeted to a very valuable audience that our advertisers are anxious to reach."
Fox Broadcasting Company (FBC) will serve as the destination's launch sponsor, with creative promoting the "24: Redemption" television movie.
"Participating in the launch of IGN's new video hub was a perfect way for FOX to drive attention to the premiere of '24:Redemption'," said Laurel Bernard, SVP of Marketing for Fox Broadcasting Company. "Re-introducing the 24 brand after an 18-month hiatus posed an interesting challenge and with IGN's help, we felt we would have success reaching that elusive young male 18-24 audience. The timing and technology of IGN's new video hub allowed us to elevate awareness for our Sunday night event."
